KEEP GOD’S WORD TO THE END

By Mr. Williams Tsatsu
Text: Psalm 119:33–40

The Importance of the End in the Christian Journey

The Christian life, the end is one of the most beautiful, painful, and important stages of our walk with God. While beginnings are often filled with excitement and passion, it is endurance that truly defines our faith. The journey of faith is not always smooth; it is marked by storms, trials, disappointments, hardships, insults, and moments of deep pain. Yet, it is those who endure faithfully to the end that experience God’s true glory.

Psalm 119:33–40 is a heartfelt prayer asking God for guidance, strength, and understanding to keep His Word faithfully to the end. This passage reminds believers that obedience is not a temporary act but a lifelong commitment.

Storms Along the Journey

As believers, we must understand that challenges are part of the Christian journey. The storms we face are not signs that God has abandoned us. Rather, they are moments that test our faith and refine our character. Many people begin the journey with Christ, but only a few are willing to endure when things become difficult.

Jesus Himself addressed this reality in John 6:67–68, when He asked His twelve disciples, “Do you also want to go away?” This question came after many disciples left Him because they could not understand or accept His teachings, especially when He spoke about eating His body and drinking His blood. The teachings were hard, and many were offended.

Yet Peter responded with faith, saying, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” This response shows that true believers remain not because the journey is easy, but because Jesus alone is life.

Do Not Be Discouraged by the World

Mr. Tsatsu emphasized that believers should not be discouraged by the attractions and affections of the world. The world may offer temporary pleasure, but true and lasting happiness is found only in Christ Jesus. No matter what we face, Jesus remains our hope and source of joy.

The Bible encourages us in Galatians 6:9, saying we should not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not give up. This is a reminder that perseverance brings reward.

Ending Well Brings Glory

Ending well is where believers are glorified. The end of the journey is far better and more blessed than the beginning. According to James 1:12, the one who endures trials and temptations will be blessed and will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised. This promise is not from man, not from a father, mother, or anyone else, but from Jesus Christ Himself.

Waiting Upon the Lord

Finally, Isaiah 40:31 assures us that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings like eagles. As believers, we are encouraged to do good to those who are in Christ and remain faithful until the very end.

Indeed, the end is much better and blessed for those who keep God’s Word to the end.
