The Global Evangelical Church Kasoa Zonal Easter Convention, held at Galilee, was marked by powerful teachings, spiritual renewal, and a strong call to refocus on Christ and His second coming. The convention brought together seasoned ministers who delivered impactful messages centered on faith, righteousness, and readiness for the return of Jesus Christ.
The event began with an inspiring morning session led by Francis L. Sackitey, who encouraged believers with deep and thought-provoking words. He emphasized that the resurrection of Christ must be evident in the lives of believers. According to him, many desire spiritual power, such as casting out demons, but are unwilling to live a life that reflects Christ. He stressed that true Christianity is not just about power, but about transformation and daily living in righteousness.
He further explained that it takes genuine faith to walk in this new life. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has given believers hope, while His death secured redemption. More importantly, His resurrection has empowered believers to live a new life, as highlighted in the Epistle to the Romans 6:4 and 12:1–2. Living in this new life, he noted, is one of the most effective ways to overcome the enemy.
Following this, Rev. Dr. E.K Bredzi delivered a message focused on identity and perseverance. He cautioned believers not to live according to the standards of others or seek to please everyone. Drawing from biblical principles, he reminded the congregation that it is impossible to please everyone in life. Instead, Christians should remain steadfast in their walk with Christ, even in the face of rejection from family, society, or even within the church.
He reflected on the suffering of Jesus, who was rejected, mocked, and persecuted, yet ultimately emerged victorious. His message was clear: believers must not turn away from Christ in difficult times but should hold onto Him even more firmly.
The final session was led by Rev. P.Y Tefe, who delivered a profound teaching on blessings, service, and the second coming of Christ. He declared that believers are no longer under curses but have been moved into blessings through Christ. Referencing Book of Psalms 107:20, he emphasized the power of God’s word to deliver and transform lives.
Rev. Tefe outlined key truths about serving God. He explained that serving the Lord is a blessing, not a burden (Exodus 23:25–26), a privilege rather than a punishment (Isaiah 45), an opportunity, not oppression, and a pathway to eternal rewards (1 Corinthians 15:58). He encouraged believers to serve God wholeheartedly, assuring them that God blesses every work done faithfully in His house.
Focusing on the second coming of Christ, he highlighted that God’s promises can never fail, as seen in the Book of Habakkuk 2:3. He also emphasized that God’s timing is always perfect (Ecclesiastes 3; Galatians 4:4–5). Just as Christ fulfilled the promise of His first coming, He will surely fulfill His promise to return.
Rev. Tefe, however, expressed concern about the state of the modern church, noting that many believers are not prepared for Christ’s return. He urged Christians to live in readiness and holiness, emphasizing that Jesus has gone to prepare a place for those who believe in Him and will come again to receive them.
He also addressed practical issues within the church, particularly modern wedding practices, cautioning against turning marriage into a materialistic burden rather than a simple, godly union.
The convention concluded with a strong call to action: believers must remain faithful, live in righteousness, and prepare for the second coming of Christ. Through prayer, grace, and commitment, Christians are encouraged to stand firm until the end.
The overarching message of the convention was clear: preach Christ, live for Him, and be ready for His return.
