Nine-Year-Old Trafficking Victim Rescued at Kotoka Airport in Joint Police Operation

A nine-year-old girl has been rescued from what authorities believe was an attempt to traffic her out of Ghana, after officers intercepted a suspect at Kotoka International Airport in Accra before she could be taken abroad.

The girl, identified as Hawa, had been reported missing from the Agormanya Zongo community in the Eastern Region. Her disappearance had raised immediate alarm among family members and residents, prompting a missing person report that would prove critical to her rescue.

The operation that brought Hawa home was the product of rapid inter-agency coordination.
